Our thoughts and prayers are with all who continue to recover from the effects of Hurricane Helene. We'll be back with more Gratefull GVL updates at the appropriate time.

SO IT’S FREE?

Yes, the event is FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC and will be set up over the Main Street bridge, between Broad and Falls Park Streets. Gratefull GVL is a community building opportunity, and a chance to come together to share a conversation and a meal. All of the food will be donated and safely served by local restaurant sponsors, and surplus funding will benefit Mill Village Ministries’ FoodShare Greenville program, which feeds families all year long. The first-ever Gratefull GVL took place in 2019 with an overwhelmingly positive response: over 120 businesses, organizations and restaurants contributed to the restaurant-sponsored buffet, and over 3,000 guests from all walks of life attended! This year, the Thanksgiving meal will take place on Monday, November 25, 2024 from 11:30 am – 1:30 pm. We are expecting over 5,000 guests, and we hope you will be a part of it!
Gratefull GVL is not a handout; it is a handshake. It is a way for us to connect to our friends, neighbors, and coworkers across all socioeconomic, ethnic, and cultural segments.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Haven’t met anyone new in a while? Each table will have conversation cards so breaking the ice and breaking bread will be easy.

Get ready for delicious food donated by some of the Upstate's best restaurants.

Follow our social handles to find out more details about the event.

HOW CAN I HELP?

Thanks for asking. We’d love your participation. You can help us in so many different ways.

If you’d like to become a SPONSOR—the more of those the merrier—please email Dan Weidenbenner, Executive Director of Mill Village Ministries, here.

If you’d like to DONATE funds to make this event possible and further the good work of Mill Village Ministries’ FoodShare Greenville program, which feeds families all year long, click here.

And please help us spread the word so that turnout is even stronger than we anticipate. There is no better way to get to know your neighbors and to give thanks for our wonderful city. We hope you’ll gather with us on the Main Street bridge for a meal and conversation on November 25.
